Beerslide

Step up and see how accurate you can slide an empty beer mug down the beer slide. You have three chances to slide it into the center of the target and win an "Official Beerslide Champion" T-shirt!

Come join us at 4:00 pm Saturday under the shelter as we auction off delicious, homemade pies. Every year we receive a wide variety of pies from apple to banana cream and usually a few Freudenfest sauerkraut one-of-a-kind specials. All pies are made and donated by the local community. Be sure to get there early get a good seat to join in on the bidding and take one home. You will not be disappointed.

Stein Holding

The game is simple, see how long you can hold a full beer stein straight out without spilling the beer or touching the arm bar. Once beer is spilled or your arm touches your time stops. The person who holds the stein the longest by the end of the night is the winner. This competition awards two winners, one for the best woman and another for the best man.

Kids Games

Don't forget to bring the kids to the Freudenfest for some fun of their own. The Freudenfest offers a variety of games from ring toss to a jump house. In the past the Freudenfest had items such as plane cockpits, an obstacle course, and a rock climbing wall. We are always looking for new activities for the kids to enjoy. The games are held in the lawn just east of the brick street and start at 5:00pm Friday and 2:00 pm Saturday.

Live Auction

Stop by the fire house bays Friday at 7:30 pm to bid on the variety of unique treasures donated by the community or created by local artists. Items in the past have included old photos of Oldenburg, antiques, wrought iron art, and much more. If you plan to bid you must register before the auction begins. All items are laid out on tables for everyone to view before the auction.

Die Wanderung

Walk at your own pace and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Oldenburg and it’s surrounding country side. You can start the 10k walk anytime between 7am to 11am by registering at the booth in front of the town hall.

Michela Farm Tours

Take a tour of the historic Michela Farm on Saturday afternoon. Tours begin at the barn north of the convent between 1 and 4pm.

Art Contest

Artists from the local area can enter their art pieces into the Art Contest early on Saturday morning. The art is displayed in the room across from the fire house under the steps of the stone church. The judging will occur at 2:00pm.

Radfahren

Choose from a 7 or 20 mile bike ride through the scenic country side just outside of Oldenburg. Registration is in front of the town hall at 8:00 am Saturday, entry fee is $15 and includes a T-shirt. All riders must wear a helmet.

Grand Raffle

The Oldenburg Freudenfest Grand Raffle is dedicated to improving and maintaining the Gilbert Munchel Memorial Park in Oldenburg as all proceeds benefit the park. Tickets are 1 for $5.00 or 3 for $10.00. The drawing takes place Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 10:00pm.

This year’s prizes are:

1st prize: HDTV LG 55” LCD 1080p plus LG Home Theater(includes 5 speakers, subwoofer, and Blue-Ray player) purchased from Geis Electronics in Batesville.

2nd prize: Handcrafted Creche made and donated by Ed Kirschner. Includes figurines.

3rd prize: Stocking filled with local gift certificates($160 value)

Wine Tasting Contest

The wine tasting contest begins at 3:00pm on Saturday. Enter your own homemade wine into the contest or be the judge by enjoying samples of the different wines. Entries must be submitted before 3:00pm.

You may enter up to two photos, any size 4x6 up to 8x10.

Your photos can be of anything you wish as long as it is taken in or around Oldenburg.

It can be old, it can be new, it can be taken by you or a photo of you. Anything goes!

Print your name, address and phone number on the back of your photos.

All entries must be sealed in an envelope and clearly marked photo contest.

Your entries must be turned into the Village Store Meat Dept.

Dead line is Thursday July 14th by 4:00pm.

Photos will be on display at the Freudenfest on Saturday July 16th.

Winners will be announced under the pavillion around 5:30 after the Pie Auction.

Anonymous people will be asked throughout the day to judge the photos.

You may take home your photo after the awards have been given out.
