The Oldenburg Freudenfest is put on by local volunteers who strive to make sure the festival goers have a great time. The festival is a two day festival that is held annually during the third friday and saturday in July.

There is much to do on both friday and saturday, including a live auction, a mug slide, a beer stein holding contest, music and dancing, and of course catching up with friends. There is also many different types of food items to select from like our famous sauerkraut balls. If you would like a nice cold beverage we have many different beers to choose from; Warsteiner, Warsteiner Dunkel, and Spaten to name a few that are on tap. We also have many different canned domestic beers, and if you choose to be the designated driver, or just don't want alcohol we also sell pop and water.

For further details on anything about the festival feel free to browse our site.

Freudenfest Mission

The Freudenfest (meaning “fun day”) is a non profit organization that originated in 1976 by a group of volunteers who envisioned holding a “family fun day”.

The mission today is the same; “To provide a high quality festival that celebrates the richness of our German Heritage through people having a fun day with their family and friends.” All proceeds collected go towards the preservation and beautification of Oldenburg.

The annual reunion has fondly become known as…
“The biggest little German festival in Indiama"
